Cholesterol And Body Mass Index (BMI)
There are so many people walking around with cholesterol problems , clogged arteries, But think that because their body “looks” good ,all is dandy beneath. Do you have a proof just by sight alone that someone is healthy? popular compliments like “cute” makes big size people feel good for a moment ,in reality are groundless until one can substantiate with a proof which is not handy for many of us. Some folks be it plus size ,medium size, skinny size assumes that we are healthy and wouldn’t drop down dead. Sometimes the “fat” people you constantly call unhealthy may actually be healthier than you internally. Many women are concentrating and spending dollars on toning their skin without paying attention to the outcry of the bad condition of the inside ,bursting out through the rough skin that all is not balanced inside. Same as the men who keeps popping Viagra and all sorts to keep up with the young women. Without a routine check up how do you know that you have a high cholesterol ?one could be very fit physically but rarely visit the doctors and wont be aware of a high cholesterol. No matter how in shape you may look ,ensure you are seeing your doctor regularly for check-ups. Yeah not so easy without a proper medical aid but this is very crucial.
Cholesterol And Heart Attack
High cholesterol is a major risk factor for heart attacks. LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol also known as “bad” cholesterol builds up in the artery walls and narrows the arteries. This buildup is called plaque. A heart attack occurs when plaque ruptures causing a blood clot to form that can block the flow of blood to the heart. People with high LDL levels are more likely to develop plaque and people with higher levels of LDL are at greater risk for heart attacks. As cholesterol travels the arteries it clings to the inner walls where it’s called plaque. Trans fats are derived from partially hydrogenated oils and are added to certain kinds of foods. This type of fat is commonly found in margarine and is often found in fried restaurant foods , packaged and processed foods such as cookies ,crackers and cake , burgers sausage bologna chicken nuggets and fried foods. Trans fat increases the risk of heart disease, Studies show that trans fats can raise your cholesterol level more than saturated fats therefore increasing your risk for heart disease.
